Created in 1978 by the California Building Standards Commission in response to a legislative mandate to reduce California’s energy consumption. Title 24 utilizes energy efficiency technologies to provide California with an adequate, reasonably priced, environmentally sound supply of energy.

Title 24 Acceptance Testing is the certification of a projects lighting controls system and state submission of an Acceptance Testing report by a certified Acceptance Testing Contractor & Technician. The certification ensures that the lighting control system is designed, installed, and programmed correctly to satisfy the Title 24, part 6, Lighting, Non-Residential building code. Many city inspectors are now enforcing this state mandate by requiring this certification before they will sign off on the final inspection of the project.
